The new parliamentary session for 2026 began with tensions.
From the start of the session, as Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi took the floor, DP deputies blocked the podium and demanded the removal of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku from the hall.
"How dare you, man," Peleshi is heard addressing Gazment Bardhi, who was speaking on his behalf, demanding Balluk's removal from the Assembly hall.
"Are you going to control Edi Rama? Whose control are you talking about? Gather the Council, hand him over to justice," Bardhi is heard saying to Pelesh.
Meanwhile, opposition MPs continued their protest over Belinda Balluku's presence in the chamber.
The head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, stressed that she has violated the law by becoming a shield for a corrupt person. The opposition has called her presence in the Assembly a provocation by the majority.
