Prime Minister Edi Rama has commented on the viral moment at the European Political Community summit in Copenhagen, as a joke between him, President Macron and Azerbaijan's President Aliyev turned into an attack on President Trump.
Rama said it was all part of a joke, and as such it gained traction in Europe, but in the US, Democrats used it to attack Donald Trump.
"How bad the Democrats are in the US because this was a very friendly joke with Ilham (the president of Azerbaijan), because we have been friends for a long time and it was really good to see each other after so many 'losses and attempts to kill each other'. This friendly joke went viral in Europe, it's funny, but in the US it was used to attack the president, it was something that really upset me, for the Democrats because they have lost touch with reality and continue to believe that moral superiority is enough for them to claim... Trump is where he is," Rama said.
