Rama's Ultimatum to Mayors, Vangjel Tavo: Any change depending on

The Mayor of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, says that they cannot allow the blocking of public spaces under the pretext that it is tourist season.

In an interview with Report TV, speaking about the action to free up space and demolish unauthorized buildings, Tavo emphasized that such actions have been taken and will continue to be taken. Just last night, he emphasized, two unauthorized kiosks were set up in Himara, which were removed by the police.

"We are now in season, but we have continuously carried out actions to free up public spaces and we continue to do so. Two kiosks were set up in the center of Himara without a permit just last night, and this morning an action by the police and all structures has begun to free up the spaces that were occupied yesterday evening. It is a well-known phenomenon over the years and this action has always been carried out. We cannot allow it with the excuse that it is the tourist season," said Tavo.

The mayor of Himara also commented on Prime Minister Edi Rama's ultimatum to dismiss the heads of administrative units and deputy mayors of municipalities. According to him, a 'refresh' in these structures is necessary, and that they cannot stay in such positions for years, but as for his deputy mayors, he said that they are young and will need time to evaluate their work.

"Absolutely. Listen, let's be correct with what is being said. I'm reiterating what I said yesterday, depending on the performance of each administrator, they cannot stay in the municipality for 10 or 15 years.

The administration in general, especially in these tourist municipalities that require maximum commitment, cannot sleep because people have high expectations and we are forced to offer people all our commitment, our work to achieve the community's expectations.

The administration cannot sleep. They need to be shaken up. I agree with the prime minister. The administration will change, I have only appointed the deputy mayors for a month. We will see. So any other structure that requires updating will be the intervention of the mayor," said Tavo.
