The head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehi, from the floor of the Assembly called on his opposition colleagues not to vote for the changes in the new electoral code.
According to him, the changes are a repetition of the electoral system, in its worst form. He added that the code was created by the presidents of the SP and PD to pass power to one and the other.
He added that apart from the immigrant vote, the rest of the proposals have no innovation, on the contrary, only deterioration.
" What is happening today is even worse. That if the results of the 2008 one were not known, this one is known. To repeat this system in its worst form shows that there is no will for good governance. Doors are closed to young people. In Gjirokastër it takes 30% of the votes to introduce a deputy, in Berat 20%, in Elbasan 10%, practically it takes more than 10% of the votes to introduce a nejri in politics, except for Tirana.
You have taken away from the citizens the right to choose and the face of the deputy, it does not happen in any country. The two big parties count the votes. It is a device created by two people to maintain power, sometimes one, sometimes the other. But the one who has it, has no intention of letting it go. I am addressing you fellow oppositionists, what are you voting for? What advantage does this law add, except that it protects some rulers who went from fireworks to delicacy.
We are not the country of eagles, we are the country of canaries. But do you have a little manhood? The shame is ours. I do not vote for this law. Only the work of immigrants is positive, the second is that if these gentlemen want, they should do electronic voting at least in the big cities. The rest is a continuation of democratic corporatism. This law is not for Albanians, it is not for young people. I heard that you said that no proposal came, how did it not come. Don't make this a shame for the opposition ," Shehi said.
