The former ambassador of Albania to the USA, Fatos Tarifa, says that the visit to Tirana of the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, which will take place on February 15, has on the agenda the relations of the USA with the Albanian state and there is no place for meetings with the opposition.
Tarifa said that Sali Berisha is denied by the US and that for the Americans, he does not exist.
Tarifa, among other things, added that the opposition is divisive and destructive.
"This is also an interstate visit. The relationship of DASH, as an American administration, is maintained with the government of Albania, whose prime minister is Edi Rama. He is the host in this house and the American embassy of course. There is no place for the opposition. First, Sali Berisha does not enter anywhere here. He is denied, for the US he does not exist, he is not a politician to be considered. For the other opposition, it is divided. The other is an opposition that is still not showing signs of life. I do not believe it is included in this agenda. This is the agenda for US relations with the Albanian state, not with the opposition. The opposition is of the political establishment, but in this case it is the state", he emphasized in an interview for "Tirana Live".
