The Secretary for Legal Affairs in the Democratic Party, Ivi Kaso, speaking about the diaspora vote, said that all Albanians should vote in the May 11 elections, even those who only have identification documents from another country. According to him, the majority is trying to control the process.
On the 'Open' show on News24, Kaso said that there are 600,000 Albanians whose identification documents have expired.
"We think that there are many Albanians living abroad and who have documents from the country where they live. For example, an Albanian had fled to Australia in 1997, had an old passport and has an Australian identification document. This person should vote."
The majority wants to control the process. All Albanians should vote, even those with only an identification document from another country.
"The government is also trying to control the diaspora vote. I don't believe that citizens want the opposition to avoid entering the elections," Kaso said.
