The Movement for National Development has called on all actors of political parties that are in opposition to unite and create a new political group, for a more united opposition in parliament and more powerful in the 2025 elections by giving another alternative to the Albanian people.
For the head of LZHK, Dashamir Shehin, there are two criteria to become part of this group: to prioritize the overthrow of the Rama government and not to identify with Sali Berisha.
In an interview for RTSH 24, Shehi said that the opposition needs a clear and stable structure, giving the opportunity to new voices for the upcoming elections of 2025. In contrast, according to him, with the new electoral code, everyone in the opposition is lost.
This new grouping, explained Shehi, will be a new political path for finding a cooperation formula in the elections, where everyone will keep their own party and signature.
"We will create a new political group, I believe that my colleagues will remember that many parties within the opposition no longer work. Albanians need a simpler political map with two or three political groups within the opposition. One identifies with Berisha, the rest of us do not identify with him and will be the other opposition group. Let's join the common fight to overthrow the government. I will cooperate with everyone in the opposition who is against the Rama government, since the power is already in the hands of Rama who has ended up in an autocrat. Who is against the Rama government, we will cooperate in, and with those who no longer identify themselves with Berisha, here we part with the other group. We are divided on the electoral law where it was a very heavy blow for the opposition, a part of it cooperates openly with Rama and the SP to produce a law that protects them as well, but damages the opposition in general. The relationship with the new justice system and I believe that it will play a positive role. The Albanian right or the opposition cannot bend to the interests of a person or a group. These are the three big themes that divide us. We are creating a new political path that gives hope and confidence. It is not enough to topple the government only with accusations, but the new ideas of the opposition are also needed. Let's create another alternative while maintaining the opposition profile. This is in a pluralistic space and let's find a cooperation formula for elections, but don't merge the parties, let them keep their logos", said Shehi.
The start of the new parliamentary session will begin with "hot" topics of discussion, but Dashamir Shehi said that political intrigues should not allow to overlook more important issues such as the garbage law that is expected to pass in the Assembly or those related to the economy of country.
"We have a hot topic for debate: Xhaçka's mandate, the requested interpellation with Rama. Last fall, some very bad laws were passed for the state, such as strategic investments, the budget went without being discussed, etc. We are bringing back the garbage law, which the Albanians protested a few years ago, we are bringing it back again to pass it. We removed them and the law on gambling, we closed it by law and opened it a year ago, yes by law. Today, with the new law, they have 5-6 people in their hands and they do not pay any obligations to the state, nor do they hire because it is online. The same thing about garbage, it was closed under popular pressure, now I brought it to pass", said Shehi.
