While citizens vote, SPAK, BKH and police forces have "landed" on the ground to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process and prevent electoral crimes. SPAK prosecutors will be in every region of the country, mainly in areas considered hot spots such as Fier, Elbasan, Shkodra and Lezha.
The Police have engaged over 5,000 field personnel to guarantee order and security throughout the entire electoral process. During the voting, if the polling station commissions, coordinators, CEAZs or the CEC have requests for Police intervention, in accordance with the Electoral Code, the Police have left points of contact with the commissions and will act in a timely manner, in accordance with legal provisions.
At 18:00, police services will take custody of all BCC facilities where the vote counting will take place and the service will continue until the end of the entire process.
In cooperation with the OSCE, the CEC and the General Prosecutor's Office, 6,838 uniformed police officers and 813 Crime Investigation specialists were trained and deployed to investigate electoral crimes. During the electoral campaign, a maximum of 6,500 police officers were deployed from the State Police structures to ensure the smooth conduct of electoral activities conducted in open and closed environments.
