While tomorrow, on May 11, Albanian citizens will head to the ballot boxes to elect their representatives in the Assembly, the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Zonal Election Administration Commissions (ZECAZ) are continuing to distribute election materials in all regions of the country.
Kukes Region:
In Kukës, the distribution of election materials has started at 15:00 at CEAZ no. 10, in Has Municipality. The process is taking place according to plan, with commissioners who have shown up on time. In Has Municipality there are 28 polling stations with a total of 16,543 voters on the list. Earlier, CEAZ no. 09 in Tropoja distributed materials for 38 polling stations, with 21,078 voters. The process is being monitored by OSCE/ODIHR observers, with a total of 8 observers deployed in the Kukës region.
Korça Region:
In the city of Pogradec, CEAZ no. 70 has started distributing election materials as early as 09:00. A novelty of these elections is the inclusion for the first time in the voting process of women serving sentences in the Pojska Prison. The court has issued a relevant decision on this issue. Meanwhile, in a polling center in Vithkuq in Korça, which bears the number 41/70, the security tape that is placed on the door of the polling center is missing.
Election materials have been delivered to this voting center, but the police are not taking over the voting center, while the CEAZ is expected to conduct the relevant verifications.
Elbasan Region:
In Elbasan, the distribution of election materials has not started as planned due to the lack of lists of commissioners and observers from a political entity. This has led to delays in the distribution process in the 508 polling centers in the district.
Fier District:
The distribution of election materials for the parliamentary elections of May 11 has begun in Fier. Fier has a total of 97 voting centers. In Lushnje and Divjaka, the distribution of election materials has officially begun in the three CEAZs. The process is taking place without problems, with the commissioners being informed about the procedures that will be followed tomorrow.
Shkodra District:
In Shkodra, the distribution of election materials has begun in CEAZ no. 2, which includes the Dukagjini area and the Administrative Units of the Shkodra Municipality. The process is progressing smoothly.
Lezha District:
In Lezha, the distribution of election materials has begun and is continuing normally, without any problems or incidents reported so far.
Dibra District:
In Dibër, the distribution of election materials began at 11:00 AM in CEAZ No. 18, which consists of 49 voting centers and has 27,000 voters. The process continued smoothly.
Vlora District:
In Vlora, the distribution of election materials has started in all CEAZs of the region. The process is taking place without problems, with the participation of commissioners and observers. In Saranda, the distribution of election materials has started in CEAZ no. 91, starting from the voting center in Ksamil. The process is taking place normally.
Durrës Region:
In Durrës, the distribution of election materials has begun in CEAZ No. 24. The process is taking place normally, with the participation of commissioners and observers.
Berat District:
In Berat, the distribution of election materials has been completed in 44 rural areas of the Berat Municipality. The process continued without problems.
Gjirokastra District:
In Gjirokastra, the distribution of election materials has begun in all CEAZs in the region. The process is progressing smoothly, with the participation of commissioners and observers.
Tirana District:
In Tirana, the distribution of election materials has begun in all CEAZs in the region. The process is proceeding normally, with the participation of commissioners and observers.
Overall, the process of distributing election materials is proceeding normally across the country, with the exception of some delays reported in the Elbasan region. The CEC and CEAZs are working to ensure that all materials are in the right place before the opening of polling stations tomorrow morning.
