Today, September 24, the citizens of Kukes will go to the polling stations again to elect the new mayor.
As determined by the CEC regulation, the polling stations have been open since 07:00, while they will remain open until 19:00.
This election comes after the sexual video scandal with Safet Gjicin, who was filmed having intimate relations in the office with Alma Kacin.
According to the Central Election Commission, there are 45,946 citizens who will vote today to elect the new mayor of Kukës.
The process will take place in 74 voting centers, one of which is in the detention facility in Kukës.
Meanwhile, voting will be electronic.
In these partial elections, there will be a ballot, in which number 1 is held by the socialist candidate Albert Halilaj, while Emri Vata, who represents the "Together We Win" coalition, is ranked second.
In half of the voting centers, four members belong to the Socialist Party, two to the official DP of Lulzim Basha, which has no candidates in these elections, and one member to the Freedom Party.
In the other 37 centers, the configuration is with 3 members from the SP, 3 from the PD and one member from the PL.
In this election process, 99 police officers are engaged who will provide the election materials in the 74 voting centers and in the counting place near the CEAZ no. 11 Kukës.
Also, to guarantee public order and peace, in the continuation of the services performed by the State Police every day, 78 other police officers have been engaged.
