On the 16th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence, the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Kruja shared a special photo of the Legendary Commander, Adem Jashari.
The Director of the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Kruja, Mehdi Hafizi, told ATSH that "in 1992, Adem Jashari and his friends visited the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Kruja. They captured this special moment in a photograph."
Adem Jashari was born on November 28, 1955 in Prekaz of Skenderaj. He was the third son of Shaban and Zahide Jashari. He graduated from the technical secondary school in Skenderaj. After the extinction of all the institutions of Kosovo in 1990, the idea to organize in a military aspect takes on a new dimension, from the LPK, which still did not act completely publicly. On November 3, 1991, a group of activists went to Albania to carry out appropriate military exercises and to train for armed struggle.
On March 5, 1998, in the early hours, large forces of the Serbian police had mercy on Prekaz. A firing point, stationed early on at the location of the ammunition factory, which was close to the Jashars' house, was reinforced with heavy artillery. The reinforcements of the Serbian forces had also come from the direction of Klina, Mitrovica and Gllogovci. The attack on Jashar starts around six in the morning.
Almost all family members were at home. The attack on the Jashars and their heroic resistance lasted for three days: on March 5, 6 and 7, 1998. This heroic war, in the new history of Kosovo, is known as the Epic of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
