Kosovo holds general elections tomorrow, Kurti confident of victory...

Prime Minister Albin Kurti, on the eve of the elections, has spoken about his 4-year mandate and his ambition to govern Kosovo as a single force for another term.

He stated that Sunday's elections are not elections, but a referendum, and that according to him, regular elections will be held in 2029.

" These are the first regular elections since the declaration of independence. Although they are regular, they are not ordinary elections, since what we have done in these four years is unprecedented for Kosovo. Tomorrow we call it referendum day. Regular elections will be held in 2029 ," he said in an interview on Top Story opposite Grida Duma.

Kurti said that in these four years they have had the support of the people, adding that there have been no protests, but that the opposition has been from the opposition, which is due to jealousy.

" I don't have more power than those before us, but we have more support than those before us. We had stability because the people trusted us. I believe we have returned their trust. Economic growth has been record, never falling below 4%, we had record capital investments last year. These are facts! How is it possible that in four years there was not even a protest?! There has never been the highest welfare in Kosovo historically. There is satisfaction for the people, but there is opposition dissatisfaction, because there is a lot of anger and jealousy ," Kurti adds.

Regarding the departures of Kosovo citizens from the country, he states that it is not higher than before, adding that during his government there have been more returns of doctors and nurses than departures of the latter.

" The first year is 2024 when we have more doctors and nurses who have returned to Kosovo than have left ," Kurti declared.

Kurti also spoke about the price of electricity in Kosovo.

" In the first year we had a triple crisis, the pandemic, the inflation crisis and the energy crisis. We emerged victorious. Here I have not found any vaccine or contract and in 5 months we have managed to vaccinate over half of the population with one vaccine. Energy is not high in Kosovo. We have successfully overcome the inflation crisis ," he said.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo also focused on the Constitutional Court's decision on the ceiling prices for the food basket, saying that the overthrow of his government's law was the greatest damage they have done to the people of Kosovo.

" Market prices... we have approved the law on basic prices, and a party took it to the Constitutional Court and they rejected it. The Constitutional Court confused property with income in their explanation, in my opinion. They have done the opposite in a decision from what they said, it is the greatest damage they have done to Kosovo. There should be ceiling prices, and they have rejected this for us ," Kurti said.

He also touched on relations with the US. Kurti stated that today relations with the US are better than ever. He stated that his government has received the largest economic fund from the US. He also did not spare attacks on the Devolli brothers and the 'Kosovo Clan'.

-Richard Grenell leaves and says Albin Kurti is lying, there has never been a worse moment in relations with the Biden and Trump administrations.

Kurti: These are not bad political relations, they are partnerships, before there was either hostility or servility, I am for normality, partnership is normality, we are friends despite misunderstandings, you can never be friends with someone if the prerequisite is to agree with everything all the time.

-But not to not talk. You have no communication today.

Kurti: It's not true, I'm letting these oppositional scumbags, they go all the way to America to fight the Kurti government, this shows how weak they are and how strong I am. We have never had better partnership and alliance relations with the West than now, I want people to learn, I cannot have the same stance on the Republic of Kosovo and the Albanian nation as Brussels and Washington have, I have a more advanced one.

-Is an isolated nation advanced?

Kurti: What about isolation, where do you see isolation?

-You no longer have any recognition of Kosovo, the last one was from Israel, when LDK was in power.

Kurti: We are receiving more support from abroad now.
