Valmir Elezi, the spokesperson for the CEC in Kosovo, said that the results of the February 9 elections will most likely be released by midnight.
"We believe that the counting will be faster and will affect the display of the results. We hope that they will be ready in a short time, but this will depend on the progress of the voting process. However, I do not want to become slaves to schedules, as we are dealing with 2533 polling stations and we must wait for the progress of the electoral process and then the counting," said Elezi.
He emphasized that this change will make the process faster and more efficient, directly affecting the publication of results.
"Unlike previous electoral processes, the method of counting ballots has changed. Now, the counting will only be done for those ballots where citizens have chosen political entities, while in the right-hand section, where citizens have selected candidates for MPs, the counting will take place from Monday in municipal centers," Elezi explained to Euronews Albania.
In addition, Elezi announced that the counting data will be sent to an electronic platform, where citizens and the media will be able to follow the results in real time.
"We will have an electronic platform, a special page where we will publish the results in real time and the media can also get them there," he concluded.
