The Serbian lawyer, Cedomir Stojkovic, has stated that the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, uses every means to create tensions so that reconciliation with Kosovo does not happen.
He refutes the rumors that Vucic sits on "two chairs", accusing him of only sitting on Russia's, for which he says that the West is realizing such a thing more and more every day.
Stojkovic, who heads a civic group called October in Belgrade, believes that all of Vucic's tendency to create instability is aimed at maintaining power in Belgrade.
In an interview for the Kosovar media, Stojkovic also talks about the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement and the calls of the Serbs to return the army to Kosovo. He expresses dissatisfaction with the way the international community behaves with Serbia, while it has imposed punitive measures against Kosovo.
According to the Serbian lawyer, such an anti-democratic regime as Vucic's should be under Western sanctions.
"Well, in general, I see that Aleksandar Vučić wants to use every resource he has to create tension and stop reconciliation, because if we create reconciliation between our peoples, then politicians like Aleksandar Vučić will lose their public and no one will to vote for them. So he needs tensions to save power…He only sits on one chair from the beginning and that is the Russian chair and everything else is just a mask, it's just a lie, it's just a trick. He is the Russian boy, he is the Russian man, and we all saw that from the beginning of the war in Ukraine. What we need to do in Serbia is to show the true face of Aleksandar Vučić to the Western partners, now it is easy, the West is understanding more and more who he is. So,he says.
Stojkovic does not see the day when the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement will be reached, at least as he says, not until there is a new political spirit in Belgrade.
"No, I think that Vučić discusses this [agreement with Kosovo] with the West, but not in an honest way, and in order to have the real final agreement between Belgrade and Pristina, we must have new political options in Belgrade, the options that will they see that it is in the best interest of Serbia for Kosovo to become part of the United Nations, the European Union, the Council of Europe and all other international organizations. So this is not only in your interest, but it is in my interest as a citizen of Serbia. I want to have my neighbor in the same organization as I am, and I want us both to be in the European Union as free sovereign countries. Nobody in Serbia today defends this policy and this is the only policy that will bring us the final solution and lasting peace.the lawyer points out.
Considering it anti-Western and anti-European, Stojkovic said that the Vucic regime in Belgrade should be under sanctions.
"I am very unhappy with how the West behaves with Serbia. So I can say more about this, I think that this regime in Belgrade, which is an anti-democratic, anti-European and anti-Western regime, should be under sanctions, I think so. I am a citizen of Serbia and I can speak for my country. What I can tell you is that if the EU and the US impose sanctions against Kosovo, the extremists in my country will use it for their own purposes. And that's why this is a bad thing. I don't know if you deserve sanctions or not, I really don't. But I know that if you are under sanctions, the pro-Russian regime in Belgrade and the anti-Western regime in Belgrade will use it in favor of Russia, in favor of nationalist politics, in favor of chauvinist politics. So this is how it is for me as a citizen of Serbia,said Stojkovic.
Stojkovic emphasizes that the presence of NATO in Kosovo is a guarantee that Vucic does not create armed conflicts.
"There is no danger while NATO troops are in Kosovo and we saw that in any situation where there are tensions created by Vucic in the north of Kosovo, there is the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier in Split, Croatia, which is only 400 km away Kosovo, this is the clear message of what America will do, what the Americans will do, what NATO will do if Vucic creates armed conflicts in Kosovo. So I think that is the hope and the guarantee that there will be no conflict, and we also saw that it was a similar situation in Bosnia that two large American strategic bombers flew into Bosnia to send the same message to the pro-Russian regime in Banja Luka ", he said.

If there are eight billion euros (investments) in the north of Kosovo, the north of Kosovo would look like Dubai. But as you can see, it is a poor part of Kosovo, they are people who have no money, only the criminals there have money. So this is an obvious lie. Of course, those criminals in the north of Kosovo would not be able to do business if they were not under financial support from Belgrade in various ways, through connections with public business, etc., but eight billion euros is impossible," said Stojkovic .
