Acting Prime Minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, was seen today in several municipalities where the runoff is being held. After voting in Pristina, Kurti visited Vushtrri, Mitrovica, and Fushë Kosovë.
But during a visit to Mitrovica, the owner of a bar where the prime minister was going to go closed the business.
In a statement to the media, Haziri said that he decided to close the bar to prevent the situation between the two PDK and LVV sympathizers from escalating.
"Neither party has asked for the space to be vacated, but I saw that the situation was getting out of control, lest it become something bigger. I found out from my workers, they told me that Albin Kurti was coming. But I saw that the situation was escalating, and for that reason I closed the bar," he said.
He said that neither PDK nor VV supporters protested to leave his bar.
