Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared that the partnership with the United States of America is not in jeopardy. This reaction came after the statement of the US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, James O'Brien, who said the day before that the United States may not treat Kosovo as a partner after the decision on the dinar.
"The Republic of Kosovo does not have an important partner, ally and friend, like the United States of America, that's how I consider and cooperate as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo", said Kurti.
During an activity with the Ministry of Health in Prizren, Kurti said that Kosovo is a democratic republic and the government does not overlap independent institutions, such as the Central Bank of Kosovo.
"The Central Bank of Kosovo has sent a letter to the People's Bank of Serbia, I hope they will respond. The dinar has not been banned in Kosovo, it is only about the dinar as a means of payment, not about the dinar that citizens can have", continued Kurti.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo repeated that they will not punish anyone, but they want every financial transaction to be legalized and formalized.
