The attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly has failed for the 20th time, while the Vetëvendosje Movement once again fails to secure the necessary number of votes to elect Albulena Haxhiu to the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Donika Gërvalla from the LVV-Guxo-Alternativa coalition said that the institutional blockade damages the country's image.
"The Assembly is blocking itself and of course this situation leaves a bad taste among the friends of Kosovo, but also among those who love us the least," Gervalla told the media.
She stressed that this is an unacceptable situation that requires immediate solutions and "rational reaction from opposition MPs."
"The political battle is about government elections, not about a topic that is self-evident," said Gërvalla.
She then called on MPs to vote for unblocking.
"It is their right to vote 'against' and abstain. This situation should be urgently resolved within 48 hours, and then it remains for Albin Kurti to take responsibility for forming the Government and begin the deadlines," she added.
Meanwhile, regarding MP Duda Balje's statement that she has received an offer to become a professor in North Macedonia in exchange for voting for Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of Parliament, Gërvalla said that she has no information.
"I have no information about this, but I urge Balje and Hoxha to vote. We are not in a bargaining chip. I do not know of any bargaining chips of this nature," she said.
Gërvalla stated that everyone is of the same opinion that a party with three MPs - referring to Nisma - cannot take second place in the state.
According to her, if Limaj is ready for cooperation, we are too. "There is no bargaining, but principled cooperation," she said.
