
The Special Envoy of the European Union in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, has announced a meeting between the chief negotiators of both countries, Besnik Bislim and Petar Petković, which is expected to be held next week.
Lajçak said that he is preparing to hold this meeting. He expressed his happiness that concrete steps have been taken towards easing the situation in the north.
"From Dubrovnik I traveled to Bratislava, where I held important bilateral discussions with the first deputy prime minister of the government of Kosovo and the chief negotiator of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi. Our conversation focused on the de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo, in accordance with the statement of June 3, and the work towards the implementation of all dialogue agreements. I am glad that we agreed on the first steps towards this goal", said Lajçak.
The EU envoy also spoke about the meeting he had with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi. He said that opinions were exchanged and he prepared for the next meeting in Brussels.
