Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla has spoken about the situation in the North of Kosovo, where as a result of the exchange of fire policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed while three attackers were injured.
Invited to Euronews Albania, Sveçla said the weapons they found are worth 5 million euros, while adding that they are also looking for other weapons. He further underlined that the weapons are of 2021 and 2022 production.
"Yesterday we reflected a part of the captured weaponry. The weapons cannot be found on the black market, they are weapons of the Serbian army, they are manufactured in 2021. There are mines that were manufactured in 2022. They are not remnants of the wars of 90. The value of all the weapons found is around 5 million euros. No one can cover up such an armament", said Sveçla.
The Minister of the Interior of Kosovo also said that the police are continuing to carry out checks.
Sveçla said that despite the fact that they publish from time to time how many weapons and materials they have found, they are still not final, as they continue to be added during the checks.
"The action is continuing, we are continuously combing the field and discovering fake weapons and equipment, every list we publish, after a while it turns out that they do not last, as they are being added," said the minister .
