Kosovo police are continuing raids on houses and buildings in and around the village of Banjské in the north of Kosovo on Tuesday, two days after an armed fight with a group of people, from which one policeman and three attackers were killed.

The entrance to the village of Zveçan continues to be blocked and it is not known when it will be opened for traffic, the deputy director of the Kosovo Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, told Radio Free Europe on September 26.

"The police have not yet finished their work, it is not known when they will do it, maybe today during the day", said Elshani.

Two Serbs were captured by the Kosovo police yesterday evening in the village of Banjské in Zveçan. They were arrested because during police checks, a large amount of weapons of various types were found in the vehicle they were driving.

The Government of Serbia has requested that tomorrow (September 27) declare a Day of Mourning in honor of the Serbian attackers who were killed by the Kosovo police.
