Two days ago, President Donald Trump's special envoy for crises, Richard Grenell, attacked Albin Kurti, the prime minister of Kosovo, as the country heads to parliamentary elections on February 9. Grenell accused Kurti of ruining relations with the US by blocking American investment in the country.
Shortly afterwards, Grenell would denounce on the social network "X" the hundreds of millions of dollars that the US has given to the Balkan region through the USAID fund, a network that has now been blocked and taken under control by the Donald Trump administration.
Grenell published the list of countries that had benefited from millions of dollars from USAID, while in the Region, Kosovo ranked first.
Meanwhile, Albanian-American activist Evi Kokalari, who supported President Trump during the campaign and has harshly criticized Grenell, says that his attack on Kurti is related to the fact that the Prime Minister of Kosovo has closed the door for him to do business in Kosovo. His businesses are only in Albania and Serbia, Kokalari adds in a post on the "X" network.
Kokalari doesn't stop there, according to her, Grenell's close associates in Kosovo have benefited from USAID funds, which he is attacking today.
According to her, with the signature of former Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Petrit Selimi, has benefited from a full 10 million euros in grants from USAID funds.
Evi Kokalari's full reaction:
It appears that Richard Grenell's friends in Kosovo collected about $10 million in implementation fees on a $49 million US grant to Kosovo.
Hashim Thaçi signed the contract below when he was President of Kosovo, alongside the US, which was represented by 'The Millennium Challenge Corp.'
At the time of the signing, his former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi, resigned from his ministerial post and became a director at Millennium Challenge Corp, potentially influencing the negotiations of the contract that his former boss, Hashim Thaçi, signed.
Upon signing the contract, Petrit Selimi again withdrew from the corporation and founded his own NGO, “The Millennium Foundation of Kosova,” this time becoming the CEO of the NGO, which would implement the $49 million grant.

Based on his NGO's Financial Statements and an audit conducted by the US government, Petrit Selim's NGO has raised over $10 million from 2017-2021.
Grenell has attacked the Kosovo prime minister before for always wanting Thaçi back in power. It’s easy to see why. Grenell is unable to do any business deals in Kosovo. In his previous statement he says that American companies work in Serbia and Albania. The companies he was referring to are those he works for or has a partnership interest in.

Grenell, with Thaci in power, clearly would have done whatever he wanted when it came to business. Kurti has closed that door to Grenell, so Grenell has returned for the last four years and vowed to remove Kurti from power again.
He is a fool if he thinks he will do whatever he wants again in the name of President Trump.
Trump already removed him from the role of Secretary of State because he knows Grenell has been playing games overseas.
