Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku, who was a member of the Kosovo Police since 2001, was killed on the morning of September 24 after a clash with an armed group in Banjska of Zveçan in the northern part of the country inhabited by a majority of Serbs.
His brother said he is proud of him and hopes it was the last tragic case.
"I feel very proud that he fell for his country, very proud. Pride is great. We are in pain, but the Albanian nation is helping us, from Kosovo to distant Australia. We thank all the European diplomats very much. Inshallah it is a historical turning point and inshallah it is the last. We have many policemen who have fallen, there are 23 as far as I know, including my brother. Enough with this! We are on our land and we will remain on our land, it is Albanian land," Bunjaku told Euronews Albania.
