Removal of dinar, journalist: Kosovo Serbs will rise in protests

The new CBK regulation regarding cash operations entered into force yesterday, February 1.

According to this regulation, the only currency that is allowed to be used for cash payment transactions and in the payment system in Kosovo is the Euro.

Journalist Muharrem Kapexhiu said that the bank's decision to remove the dinar could be followed by protests from Kosovo Serbs.

"The US and the EU are afraid of inter-ethnic problems, they will ask that the issue be discussed in Brussels. One way or another they support everything that is within the constitution. There may be protests from Serbian residents after this decision", said the journalist in Euronews Albania.
