The European Union has called for Kosovo to refrain from provocative decisions after the warning of the deputy director of the Kosovo Police for the North region, Veton Elshani, that the Ibri bridge will be opened soon.
The EU has emphasized that the opening of the bridge is the subject of two Brussels agreements, which were signed in 2015 and 2016.
Therefore, they believe that the parties to all decisions and negotiations related to the bridge issue should be resolved within the dialogue.
" The opening of the bridge in Mitrovica is the object of two agreements reached by the parties within the Dialogue with the support of the EU in 2015 and 2016. Despite the efforts made by the EU over the years, the bridge is still closed to traffic. Since this issue is related to the dialogue led by the EU, the negotiations and all decisions related to the Bridge should take place within the framework of the Dialogue with the participation of the official delegations of Kosovo and Serbia" , said the EU.
