The former president of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli has reacted again to the murder of Liridona Murseli. She was shot with two bullets by a person paid by her husband Naimi, who has been Pacolli's adviser.
The latter condemned the crime yesterday, but today he reacted by showing how he got to know Naimi, as he says that he and his wife are the godfathers of their children. But Pacolli says that the responsibility in this case is individual and nothing can be associated with his name.
Pacolli's reaction
Once again, I express my condolences to the family and friends of Liridona on this sad event.
I have known Naim Murseli for years, starting from the moment he proposed to me as a teenager, after an illness he had experienced. He has been part of my entourage ever since. Over the years, he has shown interest in my social media initiatives and I have had the opportunity to help with several business initiatives he had started since 2019.
During my mandate as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I hosted political figures (MPs and mayors from Sweden), where he was part of their escort. This is how the idea was born, at his request, to nominate him as an external associate (advisor) (pro bono) during my mandate in the government.
In addition, I have maintained a good relationship with his family. My wife and I were even godparents to their son. Liridona was friends with my family.
The latest tragedy has affected me deeply, and we sympathize with the pain of Liridona's family and children.
I am not aware of any conflict precedent for Naim. I tend to only believe in the positive side of people and I would never have thought that he would end up in such a horrific act.
I have kept silent these days as a sign of respect for the suffering of Liridona's family. Also, I want to reiterate that each individual is responsible for his own actions, and justice must show everyone their deserved place.
