About 30 people were poisoned in Malishevë on Friday afternoon. The suspicions are that the poisoning came from a shop that offers fast food.
The spokesperson of the Kosovo Police for the region of Gjakova, Lieutenant Sheremet Elezaj, in a statement said that initially the people who had consumed food had sought help at the Malisheva medical center, where strong suspicions of poisoning were established.
"Around 16:50 we received information that some people had sought medical help at the KKMF-Malishevë, from the initial medical reports, they suspected poisoning as a result of eating food in a bar where fast food is served".
He said that the Police went to the scene, as well as the municipal inspectors, as well as those from the Food and Veterinary Agency.
"The place has been temporarily closed by the latter. The owner of the bar was interviewed as a suspect, and the state prosecutor was informed about the case, with whose decision the case "Production and distribution of harmful food items" was initiated, he added.
Meanwhile, the director of health in the municipality of Malisheva, Hajdin Berisha, has said that 10 of the poisoned have severe symptoms and have been sent to KKUK-Pristina for treatment.
