The chairman of the Serbian List, Goran Rakič, has expressed his readiness to hold the elections in the North of Kosovo. At the press conference, Rakic said that the ball is now in Pristina's court, writes "Danas".

This clearly looks like an attempt by Serbia to shift attention from the attack in Banjska, and therefore to avoid international sanctions.

Likewise, Rakiç emphasized, political decisions have always been made in coordination with Serbia and that this time they will take into account the advice given earlier by President Aleksandër Vucic.

"These false and illegal mayors and councilors who have been harassing our citizens for months should immediately resign and leave our buildings because they are not representatives of our people. Their only goal is to harass our citizens", Rakič said.

He warned that the life of the Serbian people is becoming more and more difficult every day and that the pressures on Serbs and Serbia are unprecedented.

"Kurti's regime does not stop intimidating the Serbian people by violating agreements, laws and all the rights of the Serbian people. We must be united and in these impossible conditions try to determine our destiny and protect the people", said Rakič while adding that the Serbian List always made political decisions in the interest of the citizens.

Likewise, Rakič emphasized, political decisions have always been made in coordination with Belgrade.

"Therefore, this time we will listen to the advice of President Vucic and today we are sending the message that we are ready to participate in the elections in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, thus encouraging a political process and dialogue that would lead to the fulfillment of our conditions, which we have highlighted several times so far.

We ask Prishtina to announce extraordinary local elections for mayors and councilors in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija as soon as possible", said Rakič.

He emphasized that by withdrawing from the institutions, they succeeded in diverting the desire of world opinion that Kosovo is not a resolved issue, that the Serbian people are suffering and that it is necessary to form the Association of Serbian Municipalities.

"Kurti in the north is persecuting our people and grabbing our land under the guise of expropriation. Under the guise of fighting crime, it sends special forces to shoot and arrest our people and take them to Pristina's dungeons," Rakič said.

We remind you that the Serbian List has refused to participate in the local elections in the north of Kosovo on April 4, until the Association of Serbian Municipalities is formed and the Kosovo Police, namely the special units, are withdrawn.

Those elections, which were recognized by the international community, even though the turnout was about 3 percent, happened because previously the Serbian mayors and councilors resigned and policemen left the KP.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, called on the Serbs from the north of Kosovo to come up with an initiative for elections as soon as possible, "to reach the basic levers of power" in the north of Kosovo.
