Former ambassador Alma Lama has spoken about the policy that Kosovo is following in this tense situation.
Invited to Euronews Albania, Lama said that Prime Minister Kurti has accepted the Association and received guarantees that it will be in accordance with the Constitution, while the moves he is making now are to increase the number of votes and for internal politics.
"He accepted the Association, he accepted it in the March agreement in Brussels. Now he just needs to play hard diplomatically in the content of the association. He has received all the guarantees that it should not be in conflict with the constitution of Kosovo.
Any delay in this process damages Kosovo. Kurt plays that he is a populist politician and incites nationalist sentiments in Kosovo, it is not difficult that every decision taken against Serbs and Serbia incites these nationalist sentiments and he is doing so. But is this in the interest of Kosovo? I think that Kurti is facing a non-negotiable demand that is the Association, so I think that the preparation of a statute in accordance with the constitution of Kosovo for the Association, does not harm Kosovo", said Alma Lama.
