The Kosovo Assembly will meet again today to continue the constitutive session that began on April 15, in an effort to conclude the election of the president and vice presidents.
On Sunday, the fifth vote was cast against the LVV proposal to elect Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly, while this was the seventh attempt to constitute the Assembly.
57 deputies from Vetëvendosje and non-Serb minorities voted in favor of her election. 41 deputies, from the Democratic Party, the Democratic League, and the Alliance, were against. 3 deputies from Nisma abstained, and 8 deputies from the Serbian List did not participate in the vote while they were in the hall.
The Vetëvendosje Movement continues to insist on proposing Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Parliament, refusing to change the candidate, while the parties that were in opposition in the previous legislature continue to refuse to support her.
