The official director of 'Srbijagas' of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Dusan Bajatovic, posted on his Instagram account a clip from the "Informer TV" podcast, in which he said that if he had to go to war for Kosovo, he would be the first to sign up.
He added that he is a former military commander and that he participated in the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Vukovar in Croatia and in Kosovo.
"Do we want to go to war for Kosovo? Well, if you must, the obligation does not come from us. I will be the first to apply. By the way, I was a military commander, I was in Vukovar, I was in Bosnia, I was in Kosovo. My country called me. Is this policy good or bad? We also had opposition to Milosevic's policy when Milosevic was alive and he was the boss, but we took Republika Srpska, we did a deed to Kosovo, we will not give up so easily. I don't care what anyone thinks about us, if we stay without the support of Russia, this is stupid, they will eat us in two days, it would not only be Kosovo, but also Vojvodina and the Rashka region, and I as an individual do not I will allow that.” Bajatovic said.
We remind you that Serbia is considering the return of compulsory military service, said the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, citing the tensions in the Balkans and everywhere in Europe.
He said that he received "strong arguments" from the military to restore the draft, which was suspended in 2011 in an effort to professionalize the army.
Vucic told reporters that the military service will be decided between 90 and 100 days.
The idea of compulsory military service in Serbia has been described as its aim to destabilize the Balkans. The Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Ejup Macedonci, has said that Serbia is threatening its neighbors and aims to intimidate and keep Serbian citizens under control.
