"There is no association"/ Ngjela: Well done Kurt, why can't

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that Serbia wants to prioritize the draft statute for the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority.

On the other hand, according to Kurti, Kosovo wants the Basic Agreement that focuses on de facto mutual recognition.

"The basic agreement is the main word of the reports of Kosovo and Serbia, then the others come" , said Kurti.

Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has spoken about the attitude of the Prime Minister of Kosovo. Njela said that she supports him and emphasizes that Kurti is respecting the independence of Kosovo, since the latter cannot have a legal agreement with a state that does not recognize its independence.

" Prime Minister Kurti is at a high level of respect for Kosovo's independence. But Belgrade deceives with tricks that even teenage minds understand.

Gentlemen, Kosovo cannot have a territorial legal agreement with a state that does not recognize its independence. Let Belgrade stay in its irrational dreams.

Whoever does not recognize Kosovo as an independent state cannot have any legal relationship with Kosovo", lawyer Ngjela stated for "Bota Sot".

While congratulating Kurt for the statement, he asked Kosovo not to make concessions to the aggressor - Serbia.

"Well done Kurti with the answer! Because, with Serbia, Kosovo is victorious in duels against it. The Serbs cannot do anything, because today they are defeated in a war where Serbia itself was the aggressor.

No concession to the defeated aggressor - this is the axiom of great politics in Western civilization. Good luck to the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti! But also to the patriotic army of Kosovo itself. Success", said the "Bota sot" lawyer.

We remember that while talking about the Association, Kurti said that the Association that Serbia is looking for would undermine the Constitution. According to him, the same applies to specific guarantees for Orthodox churches and monasteries.

“We also commit to listening to the demands of all minority communities in our country and weighing policy demands based on their impact on ordinary people and ultimately on the legal basis that protects them. Such a request is for the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority. The association that Serbia is seeking, without first recognizing Kosovo, would require executive powers to be taken, either from the Government or from the municipalities, which would undermine our Constitution. The same applies to specific guarantees for Orthodox churches and monasteries which enjoy special protection areas from tens to thousands of hectares. This demand would require governance by a layer that is not legally regulated to provide the wide range of protections that the current order already provides. This is a case when the demand for more is actually an offer for less", stated Kurti during his address to the Harvard community, organized by the Association of Albanian Students of Harvard.
