Democracy in Action has announced that election day was generally conducted in a peaceful and democratic atmosphere.
According to the reaction of DnV, despite the calm atmosphere and satisfactory participation of citizens in the voting, the process was accompanied by several irregularities.
" Assisted voting has been a very pronounced phenomenon, where many voters, especially women and young people, have been assisted by their relatives and other persons. In fact, in many cases, assisted voting has not been recorded at all in the Voter's Book ," the announcement states.
“ The changes of Voting Centers by the CEC for a significant number of voters have caused serious problems on the ground, and a large number of voters have returned without being able to vote, as their names were not found in the Voter List. Despite the numerous changes in the voter lists, the situation has worsened as a result of the lack of auxiliary tables in a significant part of the voting centers .”
Among other things, it is added that DnV observers have also noted the presence of promotional materials, posters and business cards within a 100-meter perimeter of Voting Centers, while in some municipalities there was also organized voting for groups of citizens.
On the eve of the start of the ballot counting process, DnV calls on all commissioners to continue the counting with the same dedication, knowing that this process is as important as voting. We also call on political entities and their representatives to calmly await the official election results and demonstrate political and civic responsibility.
