Alliance for the Future of Kosovo MP Daut Haradinaj spoke about the protest in support of former KLA leaders, as well as the tensions observed between the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and that of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
Haradinaj stressed that the clashes between Rama and Kurti are not new and that the "sparks" between them have been visible for a long time. According to him, Kurti has made a mistake in the way he has handled the KLA issue.
"The first is that Kurti has not visited Albania for four years. He has a bit of a phobia of Albania, despite his slogan 'national unity'. Last year he went to Greece 27 times, while he never visited Albania during that year," said Haradinaj.
When asked how he explains the Kosovo War to his children, Haradinaj said he tries not to burden them with the past.
"I try to feed them with the past as little as possible, because I necessarily feed them with hatred towards another side. But I cannot escape the truth, as I have family members who were martyred during the war. To move on to my family, I have to move on to the 100 martyrs that I have in my backyard. The real situation in Kosovo speaks for itself, it does not need much explanation. There is no family that has not experienced violence in one form or another - not necessarily with blood. There is no Albanian family that has not sheltered a family from Kosovo. It is an emotion that people should experience for themselves, not to deal too much with the past, because now we are in a new era. Our goal is something else. The more we deal with the future, the more we increase the value of the past", Haradinaj told Euronews Albania.
