Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will not participate in the protest organized in Tirana.

According to A2 CNN, the Presidency confirms Osman's trip to Albania, but for personal reasons not related to organizing the protest.

This Friday, October 17, at 5:00 PM, a protest will be held in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), in the capital, at Skanderbeg Square.

The event, organized by the community of former KLA members, aims to call for justice for former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, currently imprisoned in The Hague.

Participants in the "Justice for the Liberators" rally will also include former Albanian President Alfred Moisiu and Macedonian political leader Ali Ahmeti.

The head of the KLA War Veterans Organization, Hysni Gucati, stated on October 15, in an exclusive interview with Klan News, that this protest has a clear national character. He said that “60 vehicles will come from Kosovo to participate in the rally.”

While the number of participants is expected to be high, the day before this rally, on October 16, it seemed as if that burning sense of patriotism and demand for justice was drawn into a political vortex.

It was a post on the official website of the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV), led by the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, that sparked reactions and discussions.

LVV leveled accusations at Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the latter's former stance on the Special Court in The Hague. But not only that! Albania's policy in relation to this issue was attacked in a certain way, emphasizing "that the possibilities were for concerns to be raised in major international forums, and not in Skanderbeg Square"...Read more

The response from the head of the Albanian government, Edi Rama, was not long in coming.

He emphasized that he has supported the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, and the three other former leaders of the KLA, wherever and whenever, something that according to him, the Vetëvendosje Movement or Albin Kurti himself has not done.
