The Kosovo police have confiscated a large amount of weapons in the north of Mitrovica.
This Tuesday, the police conducted a major operation in the vicinity of Zveçan, north of Mitrovica. Senior police officials have announced that these are Serbia's ominous plans to destabilize Kosovo, while they have provided details of the police operation.
According to the Minister of the Interior, Xelal Sveçla, this is the fifth warehouse within a year that has been discovered.
"It is the fifth warehouse within the year that we have discovered and it is also a proof of the direct involvement of the state of Serbia in the tendency to destabilize Kosovo with the aim of occupying it, or part of it" , declared Sveçla.
Interior Minister Xelal Svečla also announced that this arsenal is a remnant of the armament of terrorist groups directed by him, by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
"These are the ominous plans of Serbia. We will not stop to provide security, peace and stability for our citizens, sovereignty and territorial integrity for Kosovo. Undoubtedly, all those who are involved in acts of violence, acts of terrorism, those who violate the constitutional order and territorial integrity, violate the law, will all be brought to justice and will be punished based on the acts that have caused the security of Kosovo", emphasized Sveçla .
During the action, uniforms, bulletproof vests, explosives, bombs and ammunition were found in the vicinity of Zveçan.
The general director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, was of the same line, where while giving details on the operation in the north of Mitrovica, he said that these weapons were placed by terrorist groups with the aim of attacking Kosovo.
"During the action in the vicinity of Zveçan from the part of Rudara, uniforms, bulletproof vests, explosives, and explosives were found that were placed by terrorist groups with the aim of attacking Kosovo and creating insecurity and creating an unusual situation in this part. There are 1,588 ammunition or cartridges, 10 long guns, 2 machine guns, 62 grenades, Serbian army uniform, equipment for drones, spare equipment for weapons," Hoxha emphasized.
The general director of the Kosovo Police added that a former Kosovo police officer is being interrogated as a suspect, as the weapons were found near his house.
