The opposition in Kosovo has criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti for rejecting Prime Minister Edi Rama's invitation to participate in the informal meeting of Western Balkan leaders in Tirana.
They describe this action of Kurt as an act of irresponsibility.
PDK's vice president, Vlora Çitaku, wrote in a status on social networks that "Prime Minister Kurti's behavior is childish and politically inappropriate. How could a conference on the beautiful islands of Greece be more important than a meeting with the leaders of the region and the European Commission in Tirana?! Prime Minister, Edi Rama did not invite you to a family wedding, but to a meeting with the leaders of the region, within the framework of the Berlin Process. In such meetings, your non-participation is no longer your personal rejection of Rama. There is nothing personal here. Your impatience and sarcastic approach towards the Albanian Prime Minister is harming Kosovo", writes Çitaku.
Former Foreign Minister Anton Berisha also writes that "I don't believe that there has been and can be such an irresponsible and cynical Prime Minister, what Kosovo currently has", adding that Kurti is not interested in cooperation between Albanians.
Prime Minister Edi Rama will host the leaders of the region and the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood, Oliver Varhelyi in Villa 30.
Prime Minister Kurti or any other representative will not be from Kosovo. In this meeting, the Berlin process and the next meeting that will be held in October in Tirana will be discussed.
And in the government villa where the meeting is being held, at 1:00 p.m. there will be a lunch between them. In this meeting, no statement or conference is planned, since it is informal.
