
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and other issues with Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the presidential complex in Ankara on Friday, Turkey's Communications Directorate said.
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and the Minister of National Defense, Yashar Gyler, were also present at the reception, which lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes.
As the information office of the Turkish Presidency announces, during the meeting Turkey-Kosovo relations, Israel-Hamas conflict, as well as regional and global problems were discussed.
"During the meeting, President Erdogan emphasized the importance of increasing the trade volume between Turkey and Kosovo, with the aim of exceeding 1 billion dollars, which is currently around 750 million dollars.
He also highlighted the potential for additional growth in various sectors, particularly in the defense industry," the release said.
The Turkish president expressed Turkey's commitment to continue supporting Kosovo in all fields.
"He also mentioned that Kosovo is expected to take action, especially in the field of counter-terrorism. He pointed out that the easing of tensions between Kosovo and Serbia is a positive development, but it is essential to see tangible progress in solving this issue", the communiqué further states.
