Kosovo and Serbia are not reaching an agreement to calm the situation in the north of Mitrovica, and for this reason this position against the proposal of the EU and the USA, as it will cost dearly to the two respective countries, and more specifically to the leaders Albin Kurti and Aleksandër Vucic.
The spokesperson of the EU for foreign policy and security, Peter Stano, in a reaction to the Albanian media, said that the high representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, has started the discussion with the member countries regarding the situation, which could escalate up to sanctioning the two leaders.
" If the parties fail to act, the EU is ready to take decisive measures that will affect our relationship. The EU asks both sides to be constructive and ready for compromises - and we need to see positive steps especially from Kosovo to ease the tensions on the ground in the north of Kosovo very soon," Stano told Report TV .
According to the representative of the EU, the special envoys, Lajcak and Escobar, are intensifying the talks for the parties, and the European Union expects Kosovo to have a different approach.
