The Albanian MP in Montenegro, Genc Nimanbegu commented in an interview for Euronea Albania on the draft statute of the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama for the association.
Nimanbegu expressed that he was surprised by the fact that Rama had sent the draft without consulting the official Pristina. According to him, Rama does this because he wants to show himself as the guardian of Kosovo.
" The process promoted by the internationals should be supported, but I have many reservations about the ways in which the position of the allies is changing. apparently Vucic's influence has strengthened. I am surprised that Rama started the draft without consulting Kosovo. Maybe because Rama will show himself as a tutor in Kosovo, which is wrong when the government and the people of Kosovo should have the final say ", Genc Nimanbegu told Euronews Albania.
The Prime Minister's proposal was made two days ago in a media conference. However, in Pristina, only a few names from the opposition came out in favor, while the rest said that the draft should be consulted with Pristina first. "We don't need a savior to provide us with a draft statute. We need ownership and elaboration of principles in focus with the direction of the state and the rights of the communities in Kosovo, with ownership and clarity for the future of our country", expressed Mimoza Kusari Lila. Fatmir Limaj and Fatmir Sejdiu also came out against it.
