The author of Marigona Osmani's murder, Dardan Krivaqa, has stated that he and the now deceased were drug users.
During the court session, Krivaqa denied having caused serious injuries to Osman, but according to him, he only hit him with 3-4 slaps, but not with a stick.
"The late Marigona and I were drug users. The deceased was a user even before she met me, and so was I. While from the first day we were connected, the second we were drug users of various types; Cream, cocaine, ecstasy, speed, marijuana, hashish, xanax, tramadol, we were also alcohol users. I never hit him with a stick. The fight happened in the beginning on Saturday morning, then the next day the condition of the deceased worsened, when I saw that she was in a bad condition, I soon noticed that I was also in a state of narcotics, I took her I sent him to the hospital, I was stressed, panicked, paranoid, traumatized, I wasn't myself. I never hit the deceased with a stick. I slapped him 3-4 times with my hands, this happened on Saturday," Krivaqa said.
He also said that the injuries that Osman suffered were the result of falling down the stairs.
"I never got hit on Sunday. I never broke any part of my body, I never got hit like the subject. The injuries came as a result of falling from the 5th floor, when we were going to the hospital. I am I fell together with the deceased 2 times, I didn't have much time because of the panic, I don't even have the strength, the elevator was late the elevator, but it's late, and I decided to take the stairs," he said.
In August 2023, Dardan Krivaqa was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Osmani, while Arbër Sejdiu was sentenced to 15 years in prison for assisting in the commission of "aggravated murder". The participants in the protest were seen holding the inscriptions "We do not forget", "Justice for Marigona", "Safety and justice for women" and others.
On February 23, the Appeal approved the defense lawyers' complaints about the judgment, on the grounds that there were procedural violations during the trial. The accused will continue to remain in custody. Marigona Osmani was 18 years old when she was killed, on August 22, 2021, in the apartment of the main accused, Dardan Krivaqa, in the city of Ferizaj.
Krivaqa and Sejdiu sent the dead body of the victim to the city hospital, and then left in an unknown direction. According to the indictment, Krivaqa, on August 21, 2021, at around 10:14, in his apartment, without the consent of the now deceased Marigona Osmani, forced her to have sexual intercourse and abused her in various ways.
