Lisa Marie Presley kept the body of her late son for two months at home, as she could not overcome the grief of his death. The terrifying fact is revealed in Presley's newly published book, From Here to the Great Unknown, which was completed by his daughter, Riley Keough.
The 54-year-old was the only daughter of Elvis Presley. His nephew Benjamin Keough took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27. The tragedy hit his mother hard.
"Mother kept my brother at home with us instead of taking him to the morgue. They told us that if we could take care of the body, we could keep it at home and she did, placing it on dry ice. It was very important for my mother to have enough time to say goodbye to him, just as she had done with her father. I would go and sit next to him," Riley said.
In California there is no law that sets the exact time when a body must be buried or disposed of.
