In a recent post, Tozaj announced that every Wednesday he would publish facts, photos and video materials, which allegedly document possible connections between the world of showbiz, politics and organized crime structures. His warning was accompanied by the straightforward slogan: "Soon!"
This reaction comes in a climate of severe pressure and threats. Just a few days ago, the journalist's apartment was attacked, with unidentified individuals dousing the premises with gasoline, a serious act of intimidation that has raised serious concerns about the safety of journalists and media freedom in the country.
The incident follows another serious incident: about a month earlier, Tozaj was brutally raped, suffering severe facial injuries and seriously risking losing his eyesight. The attack was widely interpreted as an attempt to silence his voice.
Despite the threats, the journalist seems determined to continue his work, warning that 'the materials will shed light on the dark side of some public figures, who are suspected of having built their careers and image through connections to criminal networks and powerful political interests'.
Authorities have confirmed that the attack on Tozaj's apartment is still under investigation, while public opinion and the media are anxiously awaiting the revelations that are expected to be published in the coming days.
It remains to be seen what concrete facts journalism will bring to light and how society, institutions, and the characters involved will react to these allegations that risk opening a dark chapter in Albanian reality.
