Sexual fantasies are often considered taboo. Many people feel that their desires should not be expressed because they feel that they are unusual. But an expert has revealed some of the darkest sexual fantasies. Professor Mark Griffiths, a behavioral addiction expert at Nottingham Trent University, has revealed the most unusual cravings he has come across. In an article for 'The Conversation', he explained:
Fetishes are unusual types of sexual expression that are often described as sexual deviations, sexual perversions, or sexual preference disorders.
While they seem strange or socially unacceptable to most people, Professor Griffiths argues that such desires should be studied by experts. Here are the five most unusual sexual desires according to him:
1.Vorarephilia/Cannibalism
Hollywood actor Armie Hammer returned to media headlines in 2021 after allegedly sending text messages describing his cannibalistic desires. Professor Griffiths says being excited by cannibalism is very real and widespread.
"Vorarephilia – or 'vore' – refers to being sexually aroused by the idea of being eaten, eating another person or observing this process for sexual pleasure," he explained.
Professor Griffiths brings to attention the case of Armin Meiwes, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing and eating a man. After posting the announcements on the Internet, Meiwes received a response from Bern Jurgen Brandes, who agreed to submit in this form, in other words to eat, in the first sense of the word.
They met only once. Meiwes bit off Brande's penis, which they both cooked and ate.
Brandes was filmed being stabbed to death by Meiwes in his bathroom. The body was then saved for Meiwes to eat. While Meiwes was convicted of murder, Professor Griffiths notes that while some cravings are illegal, most do not cause psychological or behavioral problems when they occur with consenting adults.
2. Dacryphilia
Dacryphilia is a form of sexual arousal from seeing someone cry and comes in three main forms, according to Professor Griffiths.
"Dacryphiles are excited by compassion for someone else," he said.
Dominant or submissive dacryophiles are sexually satisfied either by causing pain to a submissive partner or by making a dominant partner cry.
3. Eproctophilia
It seems very strange, but some people get excited by the smell released from the gases. This unusual sexual desire is known as eproctophilia. Professor Griffith first encountered eproctophilia in 2013, when he met a 22-year-old. At school, Brad had a crush on a girl who passed gas in class, and this sparked a strange sexual interest in him. Then, in his mid-teens, Brad heard a friend fart and became obsessed with the sound.
"He made a bet with his friend and whoever lost got to blow gas in the other person's face for a week," Professor Griffith said. He continued to lose such bets once every few weeks for about two years.
4. Apotemnophilia
Apotemnophilia is sexual arousal caused by the fantasy or reality of having sex with a cripple.
"Some apotemnophiles may claim to be crippled," Professor Griffith said.
But for a minority, the behavior involves obsessive tricks to convince a surgeon to perform unnecessary surgery on a limb.
To most people, this may seem like a kind of masochism, but case studies suggest that there is no eroticism based on physical pain, only severed and healed limbs.
5. Salirophilia
Finally, Professor Griffith emphasizes salirophily, which is sexual arousal from impurity. This could include tearing or damaging their clothes, covering them in mud, or ruining their hair or makeup, according to the expert. In 2019, Professor Griffith met Jeff – a 58-year-old man with salirophilia. When he was young, Jeff revealed that he wanted to have sex in strange and very dirty places. And while he had hoped to engage in salirophilic practices, it was hard to find like-minded women.
