The court left him in custody for a month, Gjesti's testimony is revealed:
Singer Besart Kelmendi

Singer Besart Kelmendi, known to the public as Gjesti, has given his testimony in court regarding the incident being investigated in Pristina.

During the hearing, he stated that the incident occurred at a difficult emotional moment and apologized for the situation created.

"I want to inform the court that I am anxious and I acted in a state of anxiety. I apologize to the court, the prosecutor and the injured party," he said before the trial panel.

On the other hand, the defense attorney opposed the Prosecution's request for pre-trial detention, arguing that the artist's reaction was impulsive and that in such cases there is usually no risk of repeating such an action.

However, the Court in Pristina decided to sentence the singer to one month in pre-trial detention.

Gjesti was arrested on March 11, 2026 in Prishtina, on suspicion of illegal possession of a weapon. According to the Police, the arrest took place at around 15:00 on “Mehmet Isahi” Street, where he was stopped and then escorted to the police station for questioning. After the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, he was placed in police custody for 48 hours.

A day later, on March 12, 2026, the media also reported the circumstances that led to his arrest. According to sources, the singer had gone to the offices of the Onima music company, where he allegedly had a verbal conflict with its director, Erkand Shabani.

According to reports, the argument escalated and during the incident, a computer on the company's premises was allegedly damaged, which led managers to notify the Police for threats and property damage.
