A month after Hulk Hogan's death, his wife Skye Daley is planning to file a medical malpractice lawsuit, claiming that at least one of the doctors who treated the wrestling legend was responsible for his death.
According to sources who spoke to TMZ Sports, the lawsuit will focus on the neck surgery Hogan underwent last May. Skye has previously said she believes the surgery damaged the phrenic nerve, which controls the diaphragm and therefore breathing.
Hulk Hogan died at his home in Clearwater Beach, Florida, on July 24.
According to sources who have heard the recording of his wife's 911 call, Skye told authorities: "My husband is not breathing. He just stopped breathing." The same people stressed that the call clearly shows that the 71-year-old did not suffer a sudden heart attack, but simply stopped breathing.
It was also revealed that a therapist, who was at his home on the day he died, informed the police about the phrenic nerve problem.
Sky has ordered a private autopsy as part of its own investigation into possible medical negligence, but has yet to release the results. According to the official medical examiner's report obtained by the New York Post, Hogan died of an acute myocardial infarction.
