Rita Ora recently gave an interview to 'Time Out London'.
The star of Albanian origin gave her thoughts about her career, personal life and her unbroken connection with her native Kosovo.
"My parents have sacrificed a lot for us. My mother, who is a psychiatrist, and my father, an entrepreneur in the field of gastronomy, had to learn a new language and rebuild their lives from scratch. Mom is very, very Kosovar - with her accent, with the food. I am always around her" - said Rita.
Despite her great success in the world, Rita has never forgotten her background. She has often returned to Kosovo to support humanitarian projects and in 2019, she was appointed UNICEF Ambassador to the United Kingdom following her visit to see UNICEF's work in the region.
"I don't know what's in that water, but I'm very proud of all the wonderful pop stars that have come out of Kosovo," she says.
Rita believes that it is very important to talk about where you come from. "Ever since I started, I've always been a big advocate of talking about my background. It seems that a lot has happened since then."
Beyond her love for music, Rita has also shared with readers her passions for acting and entrepreneurship. She has created her own brand of tequila and is very active in the fashion world. However, she never forgets to mention Kosovo in her interviews and use her platform to help her homeland.
"I like to evolve," she says of her career. "I like to challenge myself and show different sides of my personality."
