The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has officially announced this Thursday the renewal of the contract with coach Carlo Ancelotti until the 2030 World Cup, a tournament that will take place in Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
In a statement published on its official website, CBF announced that the parties have reached an agreement to continue the cooperation for another four years.
" The Brazilian Football Federation and coach Carlo Ancelotti have renewed their contract until the 2030 World Cup ," the official announcement said.
The Italian coach's previous contract was due to expire after this summer's World Cup, but the renewal was considered expected, as both parties had expressed their willingness to continue the long-term project.
Ancelotti, who is known in Brazil by the nickname "Carlinhos", expressed his excitement about continuing his adventure at the helm of the five-time world champion national team.
" I arrived in Brazil a year ago and from the first moment I understood what football represents for this country. During this year we have worked to return Brazil to the top of world football, but we want even more. More victories, more time and more work ," Ancelotti declared for the official CBF website.
He also thanked the Federation for their trust and the Brazilian fans for their support.
" We are very happy to continue together for another four years. Thank you to the CBF for the trust and to Brazil for the hospitality and love ," added the Italian.
CBF president Samir Xaud has been one of the biggest supporters of the Ancelotti project. According to Brazilian media, one of his first actions after taking charge of the Federation was to call the Italian coach to confirm the continuation of the collaboration.
Since his arrival in May last year, Ancelotti has been considered a key figure in the transformation of the Brazilian national team and in building a long-term project towards the 2030 World Cup.
