Anis Mehmeti is having another successful season in the Championship with Ipswich. The Albanian striker has been one of the team's most important players, contributing 10 goals and 8 assists in 37 games so far.
However, the next challenge in the championship is expected to be delicate for Mehmet. In the match against Sheffield Wednesday, he risks a two-week suspension if he is punished with a yellow card.
Mehmeti currently has nine yellow cards. According to Championship regulations, if a player reaches the quota of ten yellow cards at this stage of the season, he is automatically punished with a two-match suspension.
Ipswich continue to aim for a return to the Premier League. The team is currently just four points away from second place in the standings, which ensures direct promotion to the top flight of English football.
Despite his good form at the club, Mehmeti has not been called up by the Albanian national team coach, Silvinjo, since 2023. Currently, with a market value of around 14 million euros, he is considered the most valued Albanian player in the transfer market.
