
Arsenal have returned to winning ways in the Premier League, having defeated Wolverhampton 2-1 at the Emirates in matchday 16. A hard-fought victory for the Gunners against a team that is ranked last and has only 2 points after 16 matches.
The score was initially unblocked by Johnston's own goal in the 70th minute. Bukayo Saka crossed from the corner kick, the ball hit the crossbar, the post and then the head of the friendly goalkeeper and ended up in the net.
In the 80th minute, Gabriel Jesus came on for Giokere. The Brazilian returned to the field after almost 12 months, from the injury he suffered about a year ago. In the 90th minute, the big surprise happened. Tolu Arokodar scored with a header, after deflecting Mateus Mane's shot into the net in the right way.
In the third minute of added time, Saka crossed into the area, Gabriel Jesus shot, but in the end it was Wolverhampton midfielder Gerson Mosquera's header that sent the ball into the net, becoming the second own goal of the day. Arsenal eventually won 2-1.
Despite it being a disappointing match for the Londoners, in the end it's the points that matter. After this victory, Arsenal move to 36 points, 5 points more than the closest follower Manchester City, who play away to Crystal Palace tomorrow.
