UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin sent a congratulatory video message for the “Golden Ball 2024” Gala Evening, which took place yesterday at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. At this prestigious event, Ceferin greeted all those present and praised the successes achieved by the Albanian Football Federation during 2024.
He described 2024 as an extraordinary period for Albanian football and praised the two major events that will be organized by the Albanian Football Federation in 2025; UEFA Euro U-17 "Albania 2025" and the UEFA Executive Committee meeting.
Below is the full message from UEFA President Ceferin:
" Dear Prime Minister Rama, dear President Duka, esteemed friends, colleagues of the Albanian Football Federation, dear friends!
Today we are gathered to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the Albanian Football Federation for the year 2024. A year that has undoubtedly shown us how the strength of determination, teamwork, and perseverance can lead to extraordinary success.
From the electrifying performances of your national teams, to the continued development of grassroots football, the year we left behind was inspiring for the entire nation, bringing moments of joy and pride to millions of Albanians around the world.
The icing on the cake of the campaign was participation in "UEFA EURO 2024", where Albania stood strong in the "group of death" against the eventual winners, Spain, Italy and Croatia.
Every match felt like a final and the love from the stadium stands showed how much the fans appreciated the efforts of your players.
This success did not come by accident, but reflected great commitment and dedication behind the scenes, and for this we express our deepest gratitude and admiration to the Albanian Football Federation and its President, Armand Duka.
Dear Armand, if I have learned anything from our friendship, I am convinced that your focus is already on what comes next. We enter 2025 with great ambition and optimism, including two major events, with the UEFA Euro U-17 Championship in May and the UEFA Executive Committee in September in Albania.
I am confident that you will accomplish these perfectly, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and the world-renowned Albanian hospitality.
The path that awaits you is full of opportunities, but you must believe and stand strong in your vision to nurture young talent, strengthen your clubs, and elevate Albanian football to even greater heights on the global stage.
Rest assured, you will always have a reliable partner like UEFA.
Let's aim higher, work harder, and dream bigger for the future of football in Albania and Europe.
